This part of Old Delhi is always packed with people and carts. Our shop has been in the family for a long time. It’s a narrow building, typical for this area, and we have stuff piled up right to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze inside. We deal with all kinds of kitchen gear, mostly for hotels and big canteens. The noise from the bazaar is constant, you never get a moment of silence. We have tea about five times a day just to keep going. We don't have any fancy brochures or a smooth-talking salesperson. It’s usually just me or my brother behind the desk. We tell people what we have and what it costs. Sometimes we have to argue with the loaders about where to park their carts. It’s a chaotic place to work, but we are used to it. The walls are a bit stained from years of use and the lighting isn't the best, but we know every inch of the place. We don't try to look like a big corporation because we aren't one. We are just a local business in the heart of the city, trying to keep up with all the daily orders.
