Finding us at 4285 Jogiwara in Nai Sarak can be a bit of a challenge if you aren't used to the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk. It is very crowded and loud out there with rickshaws and people carrying big bundles of cloth on their shoulders. Our building is old, like most things in this part of Delhi, but it serves us well. We work with a lot of different apparels and there is always a stack of something being packed or unpacked. The air inside smells a bit like old paper and cotton. We have been in this spot for a long time, and we know the other shopkeepers around us pretty well. It is a very busy environment where you have to move fast or you get in someone’s way. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of our space is used for storing the stock and having a few desks where we keep track of everything. The light coming in through the small windows isn't great, so we use a lot of overhead bulbs. We deal with all the daily problems of an old building, like leaky pipes or flickering lights, but we don't mind much. It’s just where we do our business. People come to Nai Sarak because they know this is where the real work happens in the textile trade. We just stay busy and keep the tea coming for everyone in the room.
