Chhunnu Mal Kallu Mal

The shop is right here at 25 Khari Baoli Main Road. It’s been in the family for years, and the name Chhunnu Mal Kallu Mal is what everyone knows us by around here. The street is always loud with trucks unloading and people shouting, but that is just how things go in this part of town. Inside, there are sacks of things piled up and the smell of spices is always thick in the air. We open early because the market gets busy fast. Sometimes it is hard to move around with all the crates, but we have a system that works for us. My father used to sit in the same spot where I sit now. We don't have fancy lights or a big glass front like the new shops. It’s just old wooden counters and a lot of history. Most of our customers have been coming to us for decades, and we know their families too. If you walk down the main road, you can't miss us because of the old sign. It's a bit dusty from the road traffic, but it's still there. We spend most of the day weighing things out and talking to the regulars who stop by for a chat. There isn't much more to it than that. We just keep the doors open and do the work every day. It’s a simple life in a very busy market. Most days we are just busy keeping track of everything coming in and going out of the doors.
