Chadni Collection

Chandni Chowk is a place that never really sleeps, and our shop is right in the middle of all that noise and color. We have been here for years, watching the crowds go by. It’s a tight space, but we manage to fit a lot of fabrics and suits inside. Most days, the floor is covered with rolls of cloth because we are showing them to customers who want to see every single shade before they decide. It is a lot of folding and unfolding. My nephew works with me, and he’s faster at it than I am now. We don't have a big glass front or a fancy sign. It’s just an open door with some mannequins wearing the latest stuff we got in. People come here from all over the city, and even from outside, because they know the market is good. We don't do any of that corporate stuff like loyalty cards or anything. If you come in and buy something, we might give you a small discount if we're in a good mood. The tea guy comes around every hour, and that’s how we keep our energy up. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use flashlights to show the embroidery. It’s just part of the experience here. We stay open late because the market only really gets going in the evening. It is a long day, but we are used to it by now. There isn't much else to it.
