About Bombay Bazar – Food & Beverages in North Delhi
If you’ve ever been to Sadar Bazar, you know how crowded it gets, especially near Gandhi Market. Our spot is at 5257, and it’s usually packed with stuff from floor to ceiling. Bombay Bazar is what people call us, and we spend our hours sorting through different goods that come in and out. The lanes are narrow, so we have to be careful when moving things around. There’s always someone shouting or a cart being pushed past the door. We aren't a big corporation with suits; we are just guys in shirts trying to keep the inventory straight. Sometimes the lights flicker when the power gets a bit shaky in the market, but we keep going with flashlights if we have to. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and shifting boxes. We don’t really have a lobby or a place to sit down and have tea comfortably. You just stand where you can. We’ve seen the market change a lot over the years, but 5257 Gandhi Market stays pretty much the same for us. It’s a bit messy, to be honest. There are papers stuck to the walls and old ledgers piled up. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a jumble to someone walking in for the first time. It’s just how we run things here. No one expects anything fancy in this part of town. It is just us working in the heat.
