Banaras Saree Emporium

Banaras Saree Emporium is tucked away at Shop no.861, which is quite close to the Krishana Cloth Market in the Chandni Chowk area. If you know anything about Chandni Chowk, you know how packed and narrow the lanes can get around here. We are right in the middle of all that constant movement. Our shop is mostly filled with stacks of sarees that come in from different places, and we spend a good chunk of our day just unfolding and refolding them for people. It is a very hands-on job and your arms get tired by the end of the day. The space isn't very big, so we have to be smart about where we put everything. Sometimes it feels like a maze of fabric. The noise from the cloth market nearby is constant, but you get used to it after a few years. We don't have fancy lights or a big showroom vibe; it’s more about the actual goods we have on the shelves. We’ve had the same neighbors for a long time, and we all just do our own thing. Dealing with the deliveries in these narrow streets is always a bit of a challenge, but we manage somehow. It’s just the way things are in this part of Delhi. We stay busy with the routine of checking stock and talking to the folks who find their way to our door at shop number 861.
