Operating B. M. Manek Fruits Products out of Sadar Thana Road is a daily challenge because of how busy the area is. Our place is on the first floor, at 5508/3 Basti Harphool Singh. You have to climb a narrow set of stairs to get to us, and it’s always a bit of a struggle when we are moving crates around. The building is old, and you can feel the history in the walls. We deal with fruit products, which means there is always a lot of washing and packing going on. The smell of fruit is everywhere, which isn't the worst thing in the world. Sadar Thana Road is famous for its markets, so there are always people shouting and horns honking outside. It can get a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it. We have a small team of workers who have been with us for years. We aren't a big corporation, just a family-run type of thing on the first floor. Sometimes the water pressure is low, and we have to wait for the tanks to fill up. We don't use fancy marketing. Most of our customers come to us because they’ve known us for ages. We just try to get the work done and get the products out on time. It’s a messy, loud, and busy way to live, but it’s our routine in the heart of the city.
