Punjab General Store

Our store is at 366, right on the Main Sadar Bazar road. Punjab General Store has been a staple in this neighborhood for a long time. We sell all kinds of everyday items that people need for their homes or their small businesses. It is a very busy spot because of the location. There is a constant stream of people coming in for everything from soap to stationery. We don't have a system for everything; a lot of it is just stored where we can find a gap on the shelf. The shop is quite deep, and the back is always a bit dark and cool. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. Most of our day is spent climbing ladders to reach the top shelves or digging through crates. It’s a noisy place with all the rickshaws and carts outside honking all the time. We know most of our regular customers by their first names. We don't try to act like we are a big supermarket. We are just a local general store where you can get what you need without a lot of trouble. The floor is a bit worn out from all the feet walking over it, and the shelves could use a coat of paint, but it works for us. We just keep the doors open and try to help out whoever walks in with a list for their household.
