Janwara Fruits

You can find us at B-149 in the New Fruit Market in Azadpur. If you’ve never been to Azadpur, it is one of the biggest fruit markets you’ll ever see. It is loud, it is crowded, and there is always the smell of oranges or apples in the air. We are right in the middle of all that at Janwara Fruits. We don't have a quiet office or a fancy waiting room. Our office is basically our stall in the market. We get here very early, often while it is still dark outside, to wait for the trucks to come in. Then it is a lot of shouting and moving crates around until everything is sorted. It is hard physical work and your clothes usually end up dirty by the end of the shift. We’ve been in the fruit business for a long time, and we know most of the other guys in the market. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. If you want to talk to us, you just come to the stall. We drink a lot of chai to keep going through the morning rush. It’s a chaotic environment, but there is a system to it that we understand. We just try to get the fruit we can and sell it on. It’s a simple business and we’ve been doing it this way for years. We aren't looking to expand. This market is where we belong and we plan on staying here.
