Pindi Kirana Store

We’ve been running Pindi Kirana Store at 6538-39 in Khari Baoli for a long time. This area is famous for its spices and groceries, and we’re right in the thick of it. The shop isn't huge, but we pack a lot into it. Shelves go all the way to the ceiling, and sometimes you have to move a bag of rice just to find a spot to stand. It’s always crowded and the air is thick with the smell of turmeric, chilies, and dried fruits. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in or call us up. My family has been doing this for years, and we know most of the regulars by name. It’s a lot of lifting and weighing out goods. We use old scales and write things down in ledgers. It’s not high-tech, but it works for us. The streets of Khari Baoli are narrow and always full of carts and people, so it’s never quiet. We open early in the morning and stay until late. Sometimes the lights flicker when the power is acting up, but we just keep serving whoever is at the counter. It’s a busy, messy, and loud life, but it’s what we know. We aren't a supermarket; we're just a local store doing our thing in an old part of the city.
