Alam Shabab

You can find us at 1744 in the Noor Ganj area of Hathi Kana, which is part of the larger Azad Market. It's a bit of a maze back here, but once you find the right lane, it's not so bad. Alam Shabab is basically a small operation run by a few of us who have lived in this neighborhood our whole lives. We don't have a fancy sign or anything, just the number on the door. Inside, it's mostly workspace where we handle the orders that come in. The building is quite old and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it works for what we do. We spend a lot of time talking to regular customers who have been coming to this spot for years. It's a very local kind of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside on the steps and wait for it to come back on. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just provide what people need and try to be fair about it. The traffic in Hathi Kana is always a struggle, so we tell people to come early if they want to avoid the worst of it. It's a busy life but we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves otherwise. We just keep the shop open and see who comes by.
