The Kathis

We are located up on the third floor of The Great India Place Mall, right in the food court area in Sector 18. If you’ve ever been to the mall on a weekend, you know how loud and busy it gets. Our little stall is right in the middle of all that chaos. We spend our days rolling dough and grilling meat and vegetables on the big flat tawa. It’s fast-paced work. You’re always on your feet, especially during the dinner time when the movies let out. We aren't a big chain with hundreds of locations; we just focus on our spot here in Noida. The staff knows exactly how to handle the rush. We have a rhythm to it. One person handles the billing, one does the rolling, and someone else is on the grill. It gets smoky and the smell of spices is everywhere. We don’t try to be fancy with our menu. We just make rolls that fill you up. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients by 9 PM because it was a busy day, and that’s just part of the job. We see a lot of students and families coming through. It’s a lot of work keeping everything clean and moving, but we like the energy of the mall. It’s just a simple food stall doing its best every day. We’ve been here since the mall was quite new, and we’ve seen it change a lot.
