Sumit Pan Corner

Sumit Pan Corner is located at Sector 10 in Vikas Nagar. We are right on the side of Bassi Road, near the number 638. It is just a small shop on the edge of the road. There is always a lot of dust from the passing cars and trucks, but we try to keep the counter as clean as possible. People often pull over their cars or stop their motorbikes for a quick pan or a packet of snacks. We have all the regular things you would expect to find at a small pan shop. The glass jars filled with sweet masala and different types of tobacco are all lined up on the wooden shelves behind me. I spend most of my day folding the leaves and talking to the regular customers who stop by. Some people have been coming to this spot for years and I know exactly what they want before they even say a word to me. It is a noisy location because of all the traffic going by on Bassi Road. We stay open from the early morning until very late at night. The light from our shop is one of the only things you can see on this part of the road after it gets dark. It is not a big business, just a way for us to make a living. We have to be careful with the stock so the leaves stay fresh and do not dry out.
