Running Ravi Pan Shop over here in the Patparganj industrial area is a bit different than being in a residential neighborhood. We are located at Plot No 48, right in the middle of all the factories and workshops. Most of our regulars are guys who work in the nearby units. They come by during their tea breaks or after their long shifts finally end. The air around here is always full of the sounds of machines and trucks moving back and forth on the narrow roads. It gets pretty loud during the day. I’ve been at this spot for some time now. The shop is small and simple. It’s mostly just a counter where I stand for hours. I know most of the workers by name, or at least I know what they usually ask for. We don't have fancy lights or big signs. It's just a practical place for people to grab something quick. Sometimes when the shifts change, there is a big rush and I have to work fast to keep up with everyone. Other times, it's quiet and I just watch the lorries go by on the dusty roads. Patparganj is a busy part of town, always moving. I keep the shop open late because some of the factories run night shifts too. It’s a lot of standing, but I’ve gotten used to it over the years. This is just a basic local spot for the hard-working people who spend their days around here.
