Our workshop is tucked away behind the police choki in Surajpur, over in Gautam Budh Nagar. It’s a place where we do a lot of hand work, mostly things like embroidery or adding details to fabric. It’s slow, careful work that requires a lot of sitting and focusing. We have a few people who are really good with their hands and can spend hours on a single piece. The room is usually quiet except for the sound of needles and maybe a small radio playing in the corner. We don't have a big sign out front or anything. Most people know us because they’ve been coming here for a long time or someone told them about us. Being behind the police station makes it easy to give directions, at least. The lighting in the workshop has to be just right so we can see the small details. It’s not a high-tech operation; it’s mostly just needles, thread, and patience. We take orders from different clients and try to get them finished by the dates we promised. Sometimes our eyes get tired by the end of the day, but that’s just how it goes with this kind of craft. We aren't trying to be a big factory. We just like doing the work manually and keeping the tradition going in our little corner of Surajpur.
