India Impex International

Being over here at 3 Rajouri Garden in Tatarpur, you get used to the noise from the street pretty fast. India Impex International has been running from this spot for a while now. It’s not a huge office, just enough space for the desks and all the physical files we have to keep for the records. Import and export sounds like it might be exciting work, but mostly it is just a lot of checking lists and making sure the crates are packed right for the journey. We deal with all sorts of things coming in and going out of the city. Some days are slow, just waiting for a shipment to clear, and other days we can’t even find time to eat lunch until late in the evening. The area around Tatarpur is always moving, so there is never a quiet moment outside the front door. We have some shelves filled with old samples that have been sitting there for years getting dusty. The computer is usually humming, and someone is always arguing with a delivery guy about where to park the van. We try to keep things organized, but when three different shipments arrive at once, the whole floor gets covered in bubble wrap and tape. It’s just how we do things here. We don't have a receptionist or anything fancy, so whoever is closest to the door just answers it. Most of the neighbors are also busy with their own shops, so we just nod to each other.
