Aaka Handicraft

Aaka Handicraft is at Plot 12 in Sadarpur, Sector-45. We are right across the street from the Indian Overseas Bank, which makes it easy for people to find us. The workshop is usually a bit dusty because of all the materials we use, but that’s just how it goes with handicrafts. We have different people working on different things throughout the day. Some are cutting, some are polishing, and others are packing. It’s a very hands-on place. Sector-45 is a mix of homes and small shops, so it feels like a neighborhood. We aren't some big factory with machines doing all the work. It’s mostly done by hand right here on the plot. Sometimes the neighbors come by to chat or see what we are making. We don't have a fancy showroom, just a space where we keep the finished pieces before they go out. It can get a bit loud with the tools going, but we don't mind. We just focus on making things that look decent and making sure they get to where they need to go. We don't spend time on big advertisements. People usually hear about us from others in the area. We’ve been at this spot for a good while now and we know the rhythm of the street. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We keep our tools sharp and our workbench messy because that is how real work gets done every day.
