Mas Metals & Components

We spend a lot of time here at Sec. 10 in our unit at B-94. It’s mostly metal scraps and the sound of machines going all day. This part of the city is loud, but it’s where work gets done. My family started Mas Metals & Components because we knew how to handle tools and making parts. It isn't a fancy office with air conditioning in every room. Usually, there’s dust on the tables and some grease on the floor. We get people coming in asking for specific metal pieces or some components for their own projects. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The guys in the back have been with us for a while, and we just try to get through the orders as they come. Sometimes the power goes out, or a delivery is late, and we have to figure it out on the fly. That’s just how it is in an industrial area like this. You won’t find any big reception desk here. It’s just the workshop and a small space for us to sit and talk to customers. We’ve been at this address for a good bit now, and we know most of the neighbors on the block. It’s not about being the biggest, just about making sure the stuff we send out is what the person asked for. We keep the machines running and hope for a productive week. There is always a lot to do before we close up each evening.
