Down in Village Chipiyana, things feel a bit different than the more built-up parts of Gautam Budh Nagar. Being situated near Tata Steel means there is always something going on with metal and heavy trucks. We set up Kl Steels Private Limited right in the middle of all that activity. It is not a place for fancy clothes because of the dust and the little iron bits that get everywhere. We spend our time looking at invoices and checking the trucks that come into the yard. The sun beats down on the metal roofs and makes everything feel quite hot during the summer months. We have a small crew that knows how to handle the heavy loads. You can hear the sounds of machinery from the neighbors all day long. It is a loud area, but you stop noticing the noise after a few months. We drink a lot of tea to keep ourselves going through the long shifts. Most of our day is spent making sure the steel goes where it is supposed to go without any fuss. We don't do much talking unless it is about the weight of a load or a specific delivery time. The village has changed quite a bit over the years, but the work we do stays pretty much the same.
