We operate out of 1B/1C in Udyog Vihar, over in the Makalpur area of Surajpur. It’s an industrial spot, so there’s always the sound of machines and welding going on nearby. Our place is no different. We spend the day working with steel, so there are sparks and heavy lifting involved. It’s hard work and your hands get dirty within five minutes of starting the shift. We aren’t the type to wear suits or sit in air-conditioned offices all day. We’re out on the floor making sure the fabrications are coming out right. Sometimes it gets really hot in the summer, but we just keep the fans going and get through it. The shop is located near Perfect Ltd, which helps people find us when they get lost in the industrial area. We have stacks of metal here and there, and the floor is concrete and scarred from years of moving heavy parts. Most of us have been doing this for years, so we know the sound of the machines pretty well. If something breaks, we usually fix it ourselves. It’s a practical environment. We don’t spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty. As long as the steel is fabricated correctly, we’re satisfied with the day’s work. There is always a lot to do, and we usually stay until the last order for the day is finished. It is noisy and dirty, but it is what we do and we have gotten quite used to the smell of burning metal.
