Our base is at C-182 in Sector-49, right near Priyag Hospital. Being near a hospital means there’s always people around, even late at night. We started Bhatia Caterers because we liked the idea of being part of people’s celebrations. It’s a lot of planning and making long lists. We have to figure out how much rice or how many rotis we need for a hundred people, and then we have to actually make it all. The kitchen is always a bit of a whirlwind. There’s steam everywhere and the sound of knives hitting cutting boards for hours. We don't have a shiny office with a receptionist. Usually, if you call, you’ll talk to one of us while we’re busy doing something else in the kitchen. We use our own trucks to move the food and the heavy serving dishes to the venues. Sometimes we have to deal with traffic jams in Noida, which can be very stressful when you have hot food in the back. But we usually make it on time. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We are just a local catering team that knows how to feed a crowd properly. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and long hours on our feet, but we’re used to it. We take some pride in the fact that we do everything ourselves from scratch. It’s been our life for years now and we like it.
