Our group is called Vemula Surender Reddy Vailpoor Farmersproducer Company Limited. That’s a long name, but we are just a bunch of farmers from around Vailpoor in the Nizamabad district. You can find us at house number 7-96/3. It’s a local operation, mostly run by people who spend their days out in the fields. We decided to come together as a producer company to help each other out with the logistics of selling what we grow. It’s not always easy, especially when the rains are late or the prices in the market drop unexpectedly. The office is just a simple room where we meet up to discuss things like seeds, fertilizer, and who is taking what to the market. We don't have any fancy furniture or air conditioning. Usually, there’s a lot of mud on the floor from boots coming in and out. It’s just the way things are when you work the land. We’ve lived in this part of Nizamabad all our lives. Everyone knows everyone else, so word travels fast if something is happening. We aren't here to give sales pitches. We just want to make sure our families can keep farming and that the work pays off at the end of the season.
