Jakora Farmers Producer Company Limited

Jalalpur is our home base, specifically house number 2-4 in Varni Mandal. We are a collective of farmers from the Nizamabad area. The company is just a way for us to pool our resources and sell our crops together without getting lost in the shuffle. It gets pretty hot out here in the summer, but the work doesn't stop for the heat. We meet up at the house to talk about who needs what and how the season is looking. It’s a very local thing. Most of the people involved are neighbors or relatives. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll just see us working or sitting under the tree talking shop. It’s a straightforward life. We deal with the realities of the weather and the soil every day. Sometimes the market prices are good, sometimes they aren't. Being a producer company means we share that risk together. We try to look out for one another. Nizamabad has good land, and we want to make the most of it while we can. There is plenty of paperwork to do, which none of us really enjoy, but we get it done. We’re just a group of people who know how to grow things and wanted to try a more organized way of doing it. We don't have any big plans other than making sure we all survive the next harvest season.
