Awadhesh Farmer Producer Company Limited

This company is centered around the village of Naveli in the Barasarakhalasa area of Nizamabad. It all started with Awadesh Upadhyay and a few other farmers from right around here. We finally decided to put our names together so we could have a better chance at selling our crops for a decent price. When you’re just a small farmer on your own, it’s very hard to get anyone to listen to you or give you a fair deal. But as a group, we have a bit more weight to throw around. We meet up at Awadesh’s place to discuss our plans for the year. It’s definitely not a polished business environment. We’re usually just sitting on some old chairs or string beds talking about the weather or the state of the local roads. We grow all sorts of things depending on the time of year and what the rain is doing. Our goal isn't to become some massive empire or anything like that. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields every day actually pays the bills. Most of us have been doing this since we were little kids. We know the land in Nizamabad like the back of our hands. We are just regular people, not the corporate types you see in the city. We use simple tools and the same methods our fathers used. We don't have a front desk or a secretary.
