York Hotel

York Hotel has its roots in a bit of an unusual spot, being connected to the Hotel Ashok Staff Quarter at C-120 in New Delhi. It is an old area with a lot of history, and you can feel that when you walk around the neighborhood. We have been operating from here for a long time. It is not like those new hotels that are all glass and chrome. We have a bit of a lived-in feel to everything we do. The rooms are simple and the staff has mostly been with us for years. We know which corners need extra cleaning and which floorboards tend to creak when you walk on them. Working in the staff quarters means we are always close to the job, day and night. It is a bit of a community here. We see the same faces every day and we know how everyone likes their tea in the morning. It is not a fancy life, but it is a consistent one for us. The building has its quirks, like the plumbing being a bit noisy at night or the paint peeling in some spots, but it has character. We do not spend money on big ads or glossy brochures. Most of our guests find us through word of mouth or because they have stayed here before and liked the simplicity. We just focus on keeping the place clean and making sure people have a bed.
