Even though our name mentions Lajpat Nagar, you’ll actually find us located at F6/178 in Sultan Puri, Delhi 110086. It’s a bit of a journey between the two places, but this is where we are set up. Our building in Sultan Puri is a simple one. We aren't a massive hotel with hundreds of rooms and a swimming pool. It’s more of a modest place where people can stay without spending too much money. We’ve got the basics covered, and that’s about it. The street outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, and there’s always the sound of traffic nearby. Inside, we try to keep things clean and quiet for the people who come to stay. We have a small staff, just a few of us who take turns at the desk and look after the rooms. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department writing things for us. We just talk to our guests when they arrive and make sure they have a key and a clean towel. Sometimes the power goes out, but we have a generator to keep things going. It’s not the most glamorous life, but we like meeting the different people who pass through Sultan Puri. Some are here for work, others are just visiting relatives nearby. We treat everyone the same and just try to make their stay as easy as possible. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it this way for quite a while.
