Thread Bead

The stairs up to the first floor here at F - 32/6 are a bit narrow, but we’ve gotten used to them over the years. This part of Okhla Phase II stays pretty busy from morning till late evening. You can always hear the trucks outside and the guys loading things into vans. Inside our space at Thread Bead, it’s mostly just rows of shelves and tables where we handle all the small stuff. It’s not a fancy setup, just a working office with plenty of thread spools and containers of beads everywhere you look. Sometimes the light on this floor is a bit dim in the corners, so we have to use extra lamps when we are checking the inventory. We spend a lot of time just counting things out and making sure the orders are packed properly before they go out. The fans hum all day to keep the air moving because it gets stuffy in the afternoons. Most of us have been working here for a while now, so we know where everything is kept, even when it looks a bit messy to someone else. We drink a lot of tea from the stall downstairs while we work through the pile of paperwork on the desks. It’s just how things go here every day. We get the work done, lock up, and head home through the traffic on the main road.
