The Royal School Of Music

Our school is located at number 60 in the IP Extension area of Patparganj. It’s a pretty busy neighborhood, but once you get inside, the sounds of the street fade away a bit. We have several small rooms where people can sit and practice. It’s not a grand conservatory with marble floors or anything like that. Instead, we have some old rugs on the floor to help with the sound and some basic wooden chairs. There is always the sound of someone practicing scales or a new piece of music coming from one of the rooms. Sometimes the instruments need tuning, and we spend our mornings fiddling with strings or keys. We have a small bookshelf filled with sheet music that has been handed down and used by many different people over the years. The walls are a bit thin, so you can usually hear what’s happening in the next room. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who take turns being at the front desk. The lighting is a bit soft, which makes it feel a bit more comfortable when you are trying to concentrate. We don't do any big performances here; it is mostly just a place for regular daily practice. Patparganj is a good spot for us because it’s easy for local families to get to. We just keep the doors open and the music going as best as we can every day.
