The Oberoi New Delhi

It's a big operation here at Vasant Kunj. Most people see the fancy side of the hotel, but for us, it’s about the daily grind. We are based out of the D-7 area. There’s always someone checking in or out, and the lobby never really stays quiet for long. Our team handles a lot of the behind-the-scenes work. Some days we are just making sure the rooms are ready or the kitchen has what it needs. It gets hectic around the holidays. We’ve got people from all over coming through these doors. New Delhi is busy, and we are right in the middle of it. The staff here mostly lives nearby or commutes in from other parts of the city. We drink a lot of coffee to stay awake during the late shifts. It’s not just about the rooms; it’s about making sure the whole place runs without too many hiccups. Sometimes things break or the deliveries are late, and we just have to fix it on the spot. We’ve been at this address for a good bit now. Everyone knows everyone. It feels like a small village sometimes inside this big building. We don’t really do much talking about goals or anything, we just get to work and try to keep things moving. That’s how it goes for us every single day. We spend a lot of time on our feet and by the end of the shift, we are usually pretty tired. But we come back the next day and do it all over again.
