The Metropolitan Hotel

We've been here at J 641 in Type-Ii for a while now. Running a hotel in New Delhi is always busy, especially in this part of town. The morning starts early with getting everything ready for the people staying with us. We don't really do the big fancy corporate stuff you see in glossy magazines. It’s more about making sure the rooms are tidy and the water is running right. My cousin helps out with the front desk sometimes. We see all kinds of people coming through Delhi 110001, some for work and others just passing by. It’s a plain building, nothing too flashy on the outside, but we keep it clean. Dealing with the traffic around here can be a bit much in the afternoons, but that’s just how it is in this area. We spend a lot of time fixing small things, like leaky taps or loose door handles. You get used to the noise of the street after a bit. We just try to keep things moving along so everyone has a place to sleep. Sometimes we sit outside when it's quiet in the evening. It’s a living, you know? Just a regular spot where people can stay without any fuss. We don’t have those massive lobbies with marble floors, just some chairs and a desk where we handle the keys. It works for us and the folks who stop by. We just focus on the basics and keep the tea ready.
