The Ashok

The Ashok is located at 6/335 in Doonger Moh, which is part of the Shahdara area. This is an old part of Delhi and the streets are quite narrow and winding. Our building is a regular house that has been here for a long time. We don’t have any big signs or neon lights to show where we are. It’s just a local place. The rooms are very basic with just the things people need. We don't have elevators or fancy carpets. The walls are thick, which helps keep it a bit cooler when the Delhi sun is hitting hard. Shahdara is a very lively place, and you can always hear the sound of the market or children playing nearby. We are just a small operation. My family has been in this neighborhood for years, so we know most of the people around. We don't have a website with professional photos or anything like that. If you come here, you see exactly what we have. We do a lot of the cleaning and maintenance ourselves because it’s easier that way. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but it’s an honest place to stay or do business. We aren't trying to be a big hotel chain. We just provide a simple service in a part of town we know well. It’s just us doing our best with what we have here in Doonger Moh every single day.
