Taj Mahal Hotel

Our office for the Taj Mahal Hotel is tucked away in Pamposh Enclave, at C-9. This is in the New Delhi 110048 area, which is a bit more of a residential and quiet part of town compared to the city center. It’s not the big hotel building with the marble floors that people usually imagine. This is where a lot of the administrative side of things happens. We sit in a regular building on a street lined with trees and other houses. It’s much calmer here. We spend our days on computers and phones, talking to people and managing the details that keep a big hotel running. Sometimes the neighborhood dogs are barking outside or you hear the vegetable seller going by. It’s a very normal Delhi scene. We don't have uniforms here like the front-desk staff do. We just wear our regular clothes and get to work. The office is a bit old-fashioned, with some heavy desks and lots of files. We don't really have a lobby for guests, just a door with our name on it. We handle a lot of the background tasks that nobody really sees but are still important. It’s a steady kind of job. We like the area because it’s easy to get to and not as loud as the main markets. We just come in, do our bit, and go home like anyone else who works in this city.
