Out here in Naveen Shahdara, specifically at F-60 in Panchsheel Garden, you will find Sudesh Art & Crafts. It is a bit tucked away, but we like the spot. Our days usually start early before the Delhi heat really kicks in. The workshop is filled with all sorts of materials and tools. Sometimes it’s a bit of a mess with scraps and sketches lying around, but we usually know where everything is. We spend a lot of time just working with our hands. It isn't always quiet because there is always some machine running or someone hammering something. It’s a small operation, really. We don’t have a massive corporate office or anything, just this space where the actual making happens. Neighbors often walk by and peek in to see what’s being built or painted today. Most of us have been doing this for years, so it’s more of a habit than just a job now. We take the orders as they come and try to get things out the door without too much fuss. Dealing with the logistics of shipping things out of Shahdara can be a headache with the traffic, but we manage. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, day in and day out. We aren't trying to change the world, just making sure the pieces we send out are solid.
