Handicrafts & Gifts Fair

Our office is at Pragati Niwas, right by Gate No.2 of Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. If you’ve ever been to this part of the city, you know it’s where all the big exhibitions happen. Being the Handicrafts & Gifts Fair team, we are usually right in the thick of things. Our space is often filled with samples, boxes, and bits of packing material. It’s not the neatest place in the world, but it shows that we’re actually working. We spend a lot of time talking to artisans and people who make things by hand. Pragati Maidan is huge, and sometimes just getting from one gate to another feels like a workout. We don’t have a polished corporate image. We are more likely to be seen carrying crates or arguing about where a stall should go. The 110001 area is always crowded, especially when a fair is about to start. We’ve seen many seasons come and go here. Some days are just filled with endless paperwork and checking permits, while other days are spent on the floor of the halls. It’s a lot of physical work and planning. We aren’t trying to be fancy; we just want to make sure the fair happens and everyone has a spot to show their work. It’s a busy, dusty, and sometimes loud environment, but it’s where we belong. We’ve been here at Gate No.2 for a long time now and we've gotten used to the noise.
