De Silver Designer Factory

Our shop is at No. 62, and that’s pretty much where we spend all our waking hours. It’s a factory setting, so don’t expect a shiny storefront with velvet cushions. There’s usually a bit of noise from the tools and the smell of metal being worked on. Working with silver is a messy business sometimes. Your hands get dark from the polishing compounds, and there is dust everywhere despite our efforts to keep it clean. We’ve been at this location for a long time now. It’s just a simple door with a number, but inside, there’s a lot of activity. We focus on making the designs that people ask for, mostly silver pieces that take a lot of patience to get right. Some pieces are easy, and some take a whole week of fiddling with the edges. We don't do much advertising because the work keeps us busy enough as it is. The light in the back of the workshop is the best for seeing the fine lines on the silver. We drink a lot of tea while we sit at the benches. It’s a repetitive job, but there is something nice about seeing a finished piece after hours of filing and buffing. No. 62 is just a plain building on a regular street, but it’s where all the actual manufacturing happens. We keep the doors shut to keep the noise down for the neighbors and stay focused on the orders that need to go out by the end of the week. It's just a small team of us working here daily.
