Operating out of Tilak Bazar in Khari Baoli is an experience every single day. Our shop is number 2171/10 and it's right in the middle of all that noise and movement that the market is known for. If you have ever been to this part of town, you know it is crowded and there is always someone shouting or a cart moving through the narrow lanes. We have been here for a long time. The shop itself is tucked away, and we deal with a lot of different things depending on what our customers are looking for that day. It is not a quiet place to work, but we are used to it by now. The air usually smells like spices from the nearby stalls, which is just part of being in Khari Baoli. We don't have fancy decorations or a big showroom. It’s mostly just shelves and stacks of items we need to move. People come in from all over to find specific things, and we do our best to help them find what they need without too much fuss. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, or the rain makes the streets a mess, but that is just how life is here. We keep the doors open and just get on with the day's tasks, one step at a time. It’s hard work, but it’s our life and we wouldn’t really know what to do with ourselves if we were anywhere else.
