Shangri-La Hotel, New Delhi

The Shangri-La Hotel here in New Delhi is located at 19, Ashoka Road. We are right in the middle of Connaught Place, which everyone knows is the heart of the city. Being in 110001 means we are close to everything, from government offices to the big shopping markets. This building has been here for a while and we see people from all over the world walking through these doors. It’s a busy place. The lobby is usually full of folks checking in or meeting up for coffee. We don't try to sound like some big corporate machine in our daily work. We are just a group of people working in a hotel trying to keep things organized. Ashoka Road can get pretty jammed with traffic, but once you’re inside, it’s a bit different. We have different floors with rooms and places to eat. It’s a lot to manage, but we just take it one day at a time. No one here is trying to sell you a dream, we just provide a place to stay and eat. The location is the main thing really. You step out and you are right there near all the action in CP. We have a lot of staff who have been here for years and they know the regulars by name. It’s just a big hotel on a famous road doing its job every day. We don't worry about being the fanciest, we just worry about keeping things running correctly.
