Shangri-La Hotel

You can find us at S-3 in the Ndmc Housing Complex, which is on Abul Fazal Road in the Bengali Market area. This is a very well-known part of New Delhi, 110001. Being at the Shangri-La Hotel here means we see a lot of people coming through for all sorts of reasons. The Bengali Market area is famous for its food, so it’s always lively outside. Our building is part of the housing complex, so it has a bit of a different feel than a standalone hotel. We spend our time making sure the rooms are ready and the guests have what they need. It is a lot of walking back and forth. We have a staff that has been here for years. We know the quirks of the building, like which doors stick and where the light switches are. It’s not a perfect place, but we work hard to keep it running. We don’t go in for all that corporate talk. We just want people to be comfortable. Some days the lobby is full of suitcases and people asking for directions. We just take it one person at a time. The area around Abul Fazal Road is great for a walk if the weather isn't too hot. We like being in this part of the city. It feels like the heart of things. We just do our jobs and try to be decent to everyone. The evenings are usually the busiest time for us.
