Shutter Sync Studio

If you walk around Sarojini Nagar near the Navyug School, you’ll find Shutter Sync Studio. We are right there in the thick of it. The studio isn't massive, but we’ve got enough room for the backdrops and the lighting gear we need. It can get a bit hectic because being near a school means there’s always noise and kids running around outside. We spend a lot of our time adjusting tripods and making sure the batteries are charged for the next shoot. It’s funny how much time goes into just getting the light to hit the right way. We don’t have a big marketing team; people usually just see our sign when they’re passing by or someone mentions us after getting their photos done. There’s always a faint smell of floor cleaner and old electronics in the air. We’ve got a couple of chairs for people to sit while they wait, and an old computer that we use for the editing part of the job. Some days we’re doing portraits, and other days it might just be someone needing a quick passport photo. It’s a lot of standing up and moving things around, then sitting down to stare at pixels for hours. It’s a good way to make a living though, seeing people’s faces when they see a nice picture of themselves. We try to keep things relaxed because people usually get nervous in front of a lens. We just talk to them and take the shots when they look like themselves.
