About Soumik Das Photography – Photography in New Delhi
I work out of E-933 on the second floor in Chittaranjan Park. It is a nice neighborhood, and the light comes in through the windows pretty well in the afternoon. My space is filled with camera bags, tripods, and a big computer screen where I spend hours looking at photos. I don't have a big staff or a fancy studio with marble floors. It is just me doing the work. I spend a lot of time checking the focus and the colors on every shot I take. Whether it is a wedding, a small party, or just some portraits, I just try to capture what is happening without being in the way. Photography is a lot of waiting for the right moment and then a lot of sitting at a desk later on. My back usually aches after a long day of carrying the gear around. I keep my lenses clean and my batteries charged, and that is about it. People in CR Park know me as the guy who is always carrying a camera bag. I don't use a lot of filters or fake effects; I just like the pictures to look like how things really were. It is a slow process sometimes, especially the editing part, but I just keep at it until the job is done. It is a quiet, simple way to earn a living through my lens.
