Delhi Photography Club Dot Com

Shahpur Jat is a bit of a maze but we have been here in Building No 5 for a long time. You have to climb up to the second floor of Dada Jungi House to find our spot. It is not a fancy corporate office with a receptionist and glass doors. Most days it is just a few of us sitting around talking about cameras and lenses. We started this club because we liked taking pictures and did not have a dedicated place to hang out. The walls are covered in prints, some old and some new. Some are not even framed right. It is a bit of a mess sometimes with tripods and bags lying around. We do not have a big mission or a sales pitch. We just meet up and go for walks or look at each other's work. The neighborhood has changed a lot with all the new designer shops, but our corner stays pretty much the same. It gets quite hot in the summer because the building is old and the air conditioning struggles. We have a small library of photo books that anyone can look through while they wait. It is a local thing and we do not do big advertisements. People just hear about us and show up. Sometimes we have tea and just argue about which camera is better. It is a relaxed spot for anyone who carries a camera. If the door is open, someone is usually there. (249 words)
