B. R. Bangles

Sadar Bazar is a place where you have to watch your step because it’s so crowded. We are located at 20 Swadeshi Market, which is right in the middle of all that action. B. R. Bangles is a small operation, and our shop is packed with boxes from the floor to the ceiling. If you walk into Swadeshi Market, you’ll hear the constant clinking of glass and metal. We spend our days sorting through different colors and sizes of bangles, making sure the sets are complete. The space is tight, and sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in when we have a lot of stock, but that’s just Sadar Bazar for you. There isn't much room for a desk, so we usually do our paperwork on top of a packing crate. The lighting in the market isn't the best, so we have a few extra bulbs hanging around so we can see the details of the work. People are always pushing past the shop front, and the noise is something you just have to get used to. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing where No. 20 is. It’s a very old-school way of doing things, focusing on the product and the customers who walk through the door. It’s a lot of manual sorting and careful packing so nothing breaks in transit.
