The elevator at Connaught Place Kasturba Gandhi Marg 22 is kind of slow, so we end up taking the stairs a lot. Roof Top Hotels & Restaurant Pvt Ltd is where we spend most of our daylight hours. It’s a lot of walking back and forth. The kitchen floor is always a bit slippery near the sinks, so you have to watch your step. We’ve got these old menus that have some tea stains on the edges, but we still use them. Most of the morning is just spent getting the dust off the tables. The traffic outside never really stops, and you can hear the horns even through the glass. We have a guy who comes to fix the fridge every few months because it makes a rattling noise. It’s not a perfect place, but it’s ours. We drink a lot of chai in the back when there are no customers. Sometimes we forget to turn the sign on until ten minutes after we open. The walls could use a new coat of paint, especially near the kitchen door where everyone bumps into them. We just try to keep things moving and make sure there’s enough soap in the bathrooms. It is a lot of small tasks that never really end. We’re just a bunch of regular people working here at this address in the city. There isn't much to it besides the daily routine of opening up and closing down.
