You’ll find Rohilla Collection at 153-A in Sarojini Nagar Market. Anyone who knows Delhi knows how crazy this market gets. We are right in the middle of all that noise and energy. We sell clothes, mostly for women and kids. The shop is small, so we hang things everywhere. There are racks outside and racks inside, and even things pinned to the walls. People come in looking for a bargain, and there’s always a lot of talking and haggling going on. It’s part of the fun of being here. I started working here when I was younger, and now I’m running things. We see thousands of people walk past our door every day. Some just look, some stay for an hour trying things on. We don’t have fancy changing rooms, just a small curtained area in the back. It’s a bit messy with hangers and plastic bags on the floor sometimes, especially on a Saturday when the crowd is huge. We try to keep up with what’s popular, but mostly we just sell what we think looks good. Sarojini Nagar is a place where you have to be fast or you'll get left behind. We eat our lunch standing up most days behind the counter. The fans are always on full blast to keep the heat away, but it’s still hot. It’s a tired life but a good one. We’ve been part of this market community for a long time and know all the other vendors around 153-A well.
