Rajpal Singh

This is Rajpal Singh, and my office is at number 67 on Barakhamba Road. Being on the main road means there is always something going on right outside the front door. It’s a busy stretch of pavement, especially during the middle of the week when everyone is trying to get their errands done. I’ve been here at this address for a while and I’ve seen the shops around me change names and owners many times, but I’ve stayed put. It’s a convenient location for me and people seem to know the building. I don’t have any fancy decorations or art on the walls inside. It’s mostly just filing cabinets and the equipment I need for the day’s work. I’m not really into the whole corporate look or trying to look bigger than I am. I like things to be practical and useful. If a chair is comfortable, I keep it until it falls apart. If a table works for my computer, I use it. People find me easily enough because 67 is a clear number on the street and I keep the entrance clean. Sometimes the traffic is so loud with the horns that I have to close the windows tight, but I like the energy of Barakhamba Road. It makes me feel like I’m in the middle of everything important. I usually eat my lunch at my desk while looking out at the cars passing by. It’s not a glamorous life by any means, but it’s my life and it pays the bills. I take pride in just being consistent. Every morning I’m here by eight, and every evening I lock up at six. It’s a simple routine. No big missions or complicated goals. Just Rajpal Singh doing the work on the main road.
