About Orient Fashions – Fashion & Trends in New Delhi
Our workshop is at E 45/14 in the Okhla Industrial Area Phase-ii. Okhla is a very busy place to be, with people and cars everywhere you look. We do fashion work here, which means we spend a lot of time on designs and making the first versions of clothes before they go to production. The place is often a bit messy. Threads are on the floor and scraps of fabric cover all the work tables. We don't try to keep it looking like a showroom because it’s a real working space for real people. This address has been our home for several years and we've gotten used to the noise. It’s a good location for us because we are close to our fabric suppliers. The building is just a standard industrial unit with a simple door. Fancy decorations or art don't belong on the walls. We just have our sewing machines and our big wooden cutting boards. Light coming through the windows is usually pretty good in the mornings, which helps when we are doing detail work. No marketing jargon or corporate talk is used here. We just talk about the fabric and how the clothes should fit on a person. It’s a hardworking environment. Everyone just gets on with what they need to do for the day. Sometimes stress builds up when we have a big deadline coming up, but we usually manage. It’s an honest way to make a living. We just focus on the garments and nothing else really matters.
