Jugaad Hostels

Jugaad Hostels is up on the fourth floor of Jhandu Mansion. If you’re looking for us, we’re in Mohammadpur, right near Africa Avenue in Rk Puram. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but we like it up here. The place is full of mismatched furniture and bunk beds. We started this because we wanted a place where travelers could stay without spending a fortune. It’s not a hotel. There’s no room service or fancy lobby. We have a shared kitchen where people cook their own noodles and a common area where someone is usually playing a guitar or looking at a map. It’s loud and busy because of the location, but that’s just part of being in Delhi. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after guests and making sure the water tanks are full. The name "Jugaad" really fits because we’re always fixing things with whatever we have on hand. Sometimes the Wi-Fi is slow, and sometimes the power goes out, but people seem to enjoy the vibe anyway. We have a terrace where you can see the city lights, though you have to ignore the laundry hanging out to dry. It’s just a homey, slightly disorganized place for people passing through. We’re just regular folks running a hostel and meeting people from everywhere. Every day there is a new face and a new story, and we try to keep the coffee hot for everyone who walks in.
