Manu Maharani Resort, Corbett.

Even though the resort is out in Corbett, our office where we handle the bookings and the boring stuff is here in New Delhi at Flat No. 51B, Pocket 12. This is in the 110025 area of Delhi. It’s just a regular flat in a residential pocket, so it feels more like a home than a workplace. We have pictures of the resort on the walls to remind us of the trees and the river while we are stuck in the city heat. Managing a resort from a flat in Delhi means we are always on the phone with the guys on the ground in Corbett. Sometimes the connection is bad and we have to shout a bit to be heard. The office is pretty small, and we have to move stacks of paper just to find a place to put a tea cup down. We don't have a front desk or anyone to greet you, just a doorbell and someone will eventually come and let you in. It’s a practical way to run things without spending too much on a fancy office. Most people just call us anyway, so we don't get many visitors here. We’ve been in this pocket for quite some time now and the neighbors don't mind us much. It’s just us doing the paperwork and making sure the guests at the resort are taken care of from a distance. It's a bit of a squeeze but it serves its purpose for our daily work needs.
