K.S. Hotelwares

If you’ve ever walked down Maharaja Agarsen Marg near Sadar Bazar, you know how crowded it gets. K.S. Hotelwares is right in the middle of all that chaos, just opposite Deputy Ganj. It’s loud, it’s cramped, and there is always someone shouting or a rickshaw trying to squeeze past. Our shop is filled with all sorts of things for hotels and kitchens. We don’t have a big fancy showroom with air conditioning; it’s mostly just stacks of goods and us trying to keep track of it all. Most days start early because that’s when the deliveries arrive. We spend a lot of time counting items and moving boxes around. It gets hot in the summer, and the fans barely do much, but the work has to happen anyway. We’ve known the other shopkeepers around here for a long time, so there’s a bit of a community feel despite the noise. Sometimes customers come in looking for one specific thing and end up staying for a chat. We aren’t trying to be anything we’re not. We just sell hotelwares and try to keep things organized enough so we can find what people are looking for. It’s a lot of manual work and long hours on our feet, but that is just how life is in Sadar Bazar. You learn to work fast and ignore the noise outside the door while you focus on the task at hand. It is tiring but it keeps us going.
