Alishan Expo

Our place is in the Krishna Market, unit 5140, right on the Main Bazar road in Pahar Ganj. If you know Delhi, you know how crowded and loud this area gets. It’s a constant stream of people and rickshaws right outside our door. We’ve been operating out of this small spot for years. It’s not very big, but we use every inch of the space for our stock and our desks. There’s always dust from the street, but we try to keep the merchandise clean. We deal with a lot of exports and shipping things out, so there are usually boxes piled up near the entrance. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes it tough, but we have a few fans going. It’s a gritty part of town, but it’s where all the action is. We don't have any fancy signs or a big lobby. People usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking through the market. We spend our days answering the phone and checking on shipments. It’s a lot of paperwork mixed with moving boxes around. We eat our lunch at our desks most days. It’s just how we run things here. Pahar Ganj has a certain energy that you don't find anywhere else. We are just one small part of it, trying to get our work done and get home on time. It is a long day every day.
